Creating/Editing layouts within XVCapture/DCV does not create/edit the layouts within XVWeb. If you need to create/edit layouts within XVWeb, please refer to Creating Custom Layouts - XVWeb
The following steps will walk you through creating a custom layout in XVCapture/DCV from scratch. Before beginning the walkthrough, please remember that the tooth associations with each tile is very important. If you are creating a layout within XVCapture/DCV to match an already existing layout in XVWeb, it is vital that each tile's tooth associations match to the XVWeb layout exactly.

- Name your progression within the Progression Name field (optionally, provide a description of the layout in the Progression Description field).
- Select Add New Shot in the upper left.
- Select the desired tooth associates from the populated chart (either by individually clicking each tooth, or click-dragging over multiple at once).
- Click OK.
- Repeat steps 5-7 for each tile needed in the layout.
- It is best practice to create the Shots in the order they will be taken. The order can be adjusted later by highlighting the Shot needing moved, then clicking either Move Selected Shot Up or Move Selected Shot Down in the left side bar.

- Once all necessary tiles have been created, Click OK at the bottom to save the new layout, then click Close in the left sidebar to exit the Progression Editor.
- If any instance of XVCapture/DCV from this installation was open, the program must be exited and then reopened before the new progression will be available.
Custom layouts are install specific. If each workstation at a practice has individual local installations, navigate back to the same folder where Progression Editor.exe was found (on the PC where the custom layout was created), inside there is a folder called "bin". Inside the "bin" folder will be the custom layout named as it was in step 4 ending in .progression (IE CustomLayout.progression). Copy this file to the same "bin" folders of all other PCs needing to use the new custom layout.
