Within your XVWeb URL's Site Settings, a setting labeled "Enable Mixed Modality Layouts" can be located and enabled. When enabled, this setting will cause the following:
- When two series that are assigned different modalities (i.e. one XC, and one IO) exist within the same study, the two series will be "combined," allowing all images from both series to be displayed as if they exist within the same series.
- Example: two series were taken under one study - one XC modality series (IO camera images), and one IO modality series (digital x-rays).
With "Enable Mixed Modality Layouts" disabled, the series appear separately, in the same way they were captured, and have to be viewed separately. However, the series still belong to the same study, as indicated by a bracket.
When viewing the same series with "Enable Mixed Modality Layouts" enabled, the images in both series display as if they were captured under one series, allowing them to display all at once.
- Example: two series were taken under one study - one XC modality series (IO camera images), and one IO modality series (digital x-rays).
If the practice would like multiple series with differing modalities under one study to display as if they were all taken in one series, this setting should be enabled.
If the practice would like multiple series with differing modalities under one study to display in their own separate series (similar to how they were originally captured), this setting should be disabled.
As the setting to enable Mixed Modality layouts is a Site Setting, enabling or disabling this setting carries over to all practices utilizing the same XVWeb URL as Site Settings are not location specific.
