Below are the recommended settings for image quality using Schick sensors. The settings themselves are the same between differing Apteryx software, however the method of accessing those settings varies slightly between the XrayVision and the DCV/XVCapture lines.
If you are IT and would like to manage these changes across multiple computers simultaneously, there's some helpful information you can review below to enable that.
NOTE: If the office will be using the legacy Schick Sensors (CDR Phoenix or Pluswire) Apteryx recommends installing the Schick 33 / Elite driver along with either the CDR 2000 or CDR USB Remote HS driver.
- Launch DCV/XVCapture and select Advanced User Tools
- Select Preferences
- By default, the User ID is admin and the Password is AKRON
- Select Imaging Extensions from the left side towards the bottom, click the red caret (>) next to Digital X-ray Image Capture and select SchickIntraOral Digital X-ray
- Click on Modify Post Capture Filters
- Select Filter Options > Delete All Filters and hit Yes on the prompt
- Select Filter Options > Invert Filter and Filter Options > Flip Vertically Filter
- Click OK in the upper right to close the Post Capture Filter screen, then select Hardware Settings on the left
- Select Display Schick Hardware Settings
- Verify the below settings on the Xray tab

Note: If the Image tab does not show up, the drivers on this PC are out of date and need to be updated. The drivers can be retrieved from the manufacturer.
- If you are using a Schick AE sensor, verify the below settings on the AE Image tab

- Launch XrayVision and select Tools > Hardware Options
- Double click on Schick
- Verify the below settings on the Xray tab

Managing Schick Image Quality Across Multiple Computers
If you are managing multiple computers across multiple locations, it may assist you to know that this can be easily duplicated by configuring the Schick Hardware settings mentioned above on one computer and copying the settings file to other computers. Below are the steps.
1. Configure Schick Hardware and Image Quality settings as mentioned in the article above
2. Navigate to
C:\ProgramData\Schick Technologies\CDR3.
CDRSettings.xmlis in this folder. Copy it to any other computer in the same file path to copy Schick Hardware and Image Quality settings to other computers.
