XVCapture (and Rebrands) Server Migration

Prechecklist:

• Have both the old and new server online for smooth migration
• Locate the Apteryx or XVCapture folder on the old server
• Ensure all instances of Apteryx/XVCapture are closed throughout the office or network connected to the old server
• Create a copy or backup of the entire Apteryx/XVCapture folder as a backup measure in the event of any failures during transfer
• (Optional) Have a thumbdrive/flashdrive available to transfer the Apteryx/XVCapture folder

Workflow:

1. Copy XVCapture folder from old server to new server (either over network or through thumbdrive/flashdrive)

2. Open Folder Properties
   • 
   • Share Folder (Sharing Tab)

     4. 
     5. 
        Click OK
     6. 
        Click OK twice 
     7. 
        Click OK
   • Edit Permissions (Security Tab)

     2. 
     3. Type “everyone”
        
        Click OK
     4. 
        Click OK then Close
3. Open Folder and Open Program
   • 
4. Lastly, ensure at each station the shortcut's path has been changed to the new server path.
