Whether replacing a computer, moving the program from one computer to another, or even renaming a computer, you may be greeted by a pop up when opening XrayVision DCV or XVCapture:
On the left you will see the total number of licenses you have (listed in blue) and how many licenses are currently in use (listed in red). On the right you will see the computers currently holding licenses.
Any computer name listed under Licensed Computers with an asterisk (*) next to it is the computer you are currently on. If no name appears under this list with an asterisk (*) and you need to know your computers name, please see how to find your PC name below.
If all computers listed are supposed to have licenses, and the current computer is meant to be added to the list, please see DCV (and Rebrands) Adding Additional Registration Number[s].
If you need to remove a licensed computer from the list to free a license for the current PC, click on the computer name you wish to remove the license from.
Warning: Names with an asterisk (*) cannot be selected, as well as computers with the software currently running cannot have their license(s) taken.
Once the necessary name has been highlighted, click the button labeled Reallocate License.
There will be two prompts that will populate asking if you are sure about removing the license. Select YES to both and the selected computer name will be removed from the list.
Press OK to exit the Licensing Information window. DCV or XVCapture should automatically launch, applying the unused license to the computer you are on. If it does not automatically launch, simply launch the program using the icon or the bridge to apply the unused license to this PC.
Finding a Computer's Name:
The licensing for our programs are set, by default, to use the computer name (without most punctuation). This allows all users using that computer to access the program. To locate your computer name you can use the Windows Shortcut of holding down the Windows Key and tapping the Pause/Break Key.
The System window will populate with the basic information of the computer. The Computer Name can be found under the section labeled Computer name, domain, and workgroup settings.
