This guide is intended to instruct XVWeb Capture users on how to properly integrate Carestream RVG 5100, 5200, 6100, and 6200 model sensors into their XVWeb Capture environment.
This integration will require:
- The latest available version of XVWeb Capture to be installed
- The latest available version of XVWeb Capture's Carestream plugin to be installed
- The latest available version of Carestream's RVG sensor drivers to be installed
XVWeb Capture Installation
If XVWeb Capture has not yet been installed, please refer to Installing XVWeb Capture before proceeding.
- During installation, select Carestream from the list of Plugins to install:
Carestream Plugin Installation
If the Carestream Plugin was selected during the initial installation of XVWeb Capture as shown above, skip ahead to the next section.
- Log into your XVWeb URL as an Admin user and navigate to Username > Capture > Manage Plugins.
- Locate Carestream in the list of available Plugins and click Install.
- Click Install to begin the installation process.
- If prompted to close XVWeb Capture, click Yes.
- Allow the installation to complete - once finished, close the Install Complete prompt.
- Wait for XVWeb Capture's "Please Wait" message to disappear, then close the Manage Plugins window.
Carestream Driver Installation
Planet DDS does not directly install or provide support for 3rd party drivers. If any issues are experienced during driver installation, please contact Carestream Support.

Navigate to https://www.carestreamdental.com/en-us/forms/update-central/ and download the latest Carestream RVG driver package.

Navigate to the downloaded package and right click > Extract All.
- Run the extracted installation application. then click next through the installer's prompts. When prompted to select which components are installed, ensure the components matching your model of sensor are checked. Click Install, and allow the driver installation to complete.
- Once the installation completes, click Finish.
