Certain layouts missing from layout selection window during image capture
Behavior:
When initiating a capture sequence via XVWeb Capture, the layout you would like to use does not show up in the layout selection window.
Potential Causes:
- Mixed Modality Layouts needs to be enabled within XVWeb.
- The layout you are looking for has a modality different from what the device you are using to capture images will produce.
Solutions:
Enable Mixed Modality Layouts:
- Sign into XVWeb as an Admin user
- Click your username in the top-right corner, then navigate to Settings > Site Settings
- Check the box labeled "Enable Mixed Modality Layouts"
- Scroll down and click Save, then refresh the page
Create a layout in XVWeb where all tiles have the modality that will be produced by the device you are using. Refer to Creating Custom Layouts - XVWeb to create the layout you need.
- For example, when capturing with an Intraoral camera using the Intraoral Camera plugin, the modality of the images will be XC. Therefore, only layouts containing XC modality tiles will be selectable for use. When capturing with a sensor of any make/model, the expected modality will be IO, meaning only IO modality layouts will be selectable.

Incorrect shot order
Behavior:
When capturing images within XVWeb Capture, the order the user is prompted to capture images in is incorrect.
Cause:
The progression instance number on each tile in the layout being used for capture is either missing or needs to be changed.
Solution:
Edit each tile's progression instance number to match the order you would like to capture your images in. The example below goes over how to accomplish this and can be followed for any layout the shot order needs to be adjusted on.
Example: The practice has an existing 4 BW 2PA layout that can be used for capture, however they'd like to swap the shot order of tiles 3 and 4, so that tile 3 becomes tile 4 and vice versa.
Take note of the name of the layout in use:
With the name of the layout in mind, view any patient's images then select Layouts > Edit, then select the layout that needs to be edited from the Edit Layout menu:
You'll be taken to the Layout Editor and the layout will display. Click on the first tile you'd like to edit, then click Edit Tile:
Change the Progression Instance number to specify which shot number will belong to this tile. In this case, the current Progression Instance number is 3, meaning this tile is shot #3. The practice would like this to be shot #4 instead, so we've changed the Progression Instance number to 4. Click Update once changed:
Repeat this process for each tile you need to edit the shot order on. Once complete, click Save on the left toolbar, then click Save under the name:
Click Back, then refresh the page and begin a new capture sequence using this layout. The shot order is now set to the way the practice would prefer, as the Progression Instance numbers have been changed to reflect the new shot order:
Refer to Editing Layouts - XVWeb for further information surrounding editing existing layouts if needed.
